Middle & High School

Every aspect of the NHCA lower school program is designed to help your child prepare for adolescence—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

At NHCA, we have the unique opportunity to set our 5th and 6th grade students apart from the rest of the school. We believe, as research shows, that this is a very important stage of development in a student’s life. We can all remember the fear and excitement of approaching our teenage years and the feeling of not knowing what was coming around the next corner. Our goal is to help make the upper school transition as smooth as possible for your child. The NHCA staff recognizes that students in 5-8 are in a time of discovery as they begin to experience independence and responsibility in a way they have not. Our staff does a tremendous job of nurturing your child and at the same time pushing them beyond comfortability to help them grow and mature in ways that result in not only proud students, but also—proud parents!

Education Programs

Spanish I (Grade 8): The purpose of Spanish I is to help each student attain proficiency in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will also develop an insight into the contemporary Spanish-speaking world and the various cultures that it includes. (High School Credit: 1)

Our rigorous academic program allows students to select AP and dual credit classes to aid in their academic success. Behavioral choices are guided by a discipline program that promotes time-management, self-control, and respect for their peers and those in authority. Watching responsible young men and women receive their diplomas is the ultimate reward.
